A flurry of scoring in the second quarter proved to be the real difference in an otherwise close game as the Bullfrogs fell to Madison 7-35. Madison wrapped up the district championship regardless of next weeks result since they beat Roosevelt earlier in the season. Lake Worth could still make the playoffs with a win over Ranchview and a loss by Castleberry.

October 27, 2008

The Bullfrogs shut out Diamond Hill 51-0 and find themselves in familiar territory - win out and they have a shot at the playoffs. Lake Worth has needed to win it's final three games in each of the last two seasons to make the playoffs. This year the difference is that they will need to beat Madison to get that done. The Bullfrogs have lost to Madison the last two seasons and will need to come out ready to play this week.

With back to back district losses to Roosevelt and Castleberry, the Bullfrogs playoff hopes are pretty slim. They will certainly need to win 2 out of 3 to have any chance. Winning all three would put them in a good position but they will face a tuff challenge on the road against Madison to pull this off. Barring a complete meltdown they should have no problem with Diamond Hill Jarvis on October 24th after being off this week.

After dropping to 0-4 last week, Lake Worth was able to put together an impressive showing against a Riverside team that looked to be headed in the right direction this year. A solid ground game for the offense was matched by a smothering defense that shut down what had been a high scoring Eagle offense so far this season.

September 15, 2008

Lake Worth has now dropped to 0-3 after losing to Sanger. The game was hard fought but the Bullfrogs are still struggling to find their stride on both sides of the ball. This weeks game against SW Christian will conclude non-district play. A win would provide a great boost heading into District 11-3A play where everyone except Carter-Riverside and Ranchview are struggling to get wins.

The Bullfrogs will take on Pilot Point tonight at Pilot Point H.S. Pilot Point was able to put a lot of points on the board last week so Lake Worth will need to see production on both sides of the ball tonight. Lake Worth is 1-2 against Pilot Point over the last two seasons including a one sided loss in the 2006 area playoffs. This should be a good early season test for both teams.

Lake Worth was unable to put points on the board until late against Nolan as they dropped their first game 7-35. Several good scoring opportunities in the first half ended deep in Nolan territory with missed field goals. The late touchdown stopped a shutout but the offense will need to keep up the scoring this week against Pilot Point who won their opener 48-32.
